Functional Expertise
Functional Expertise refers to a candidate’s specific skills, knowledge, or experience within a particular job function or work area. It helps define what the person is good at and where they are most effective in their role.
Unlike qualifications, which show formal credentials, functional expertise focuses on hands-on capability and real-world experience.
Example: A job requires Mental Health experience. Candidates tagged with Mental Health as functional expertise will be prioritised in search results, even if multiple candidates share the same qualification.

Understanding Role, Job Category, and Functional Expertise
Role refers to a specific position or title assigned to a person in an organisation. Example: Software Developer, Registered Nurse, HR Executive.
Job Category groups similar roles based on the type of work or industry. Example: IT, Healthcare, Finance, Hospitality.
Functional Expertise describes the specialised domain or skill area in which a role operates. Example: Healthcare, Education, Hospitality, Human Resources (HR).
To navigate to the Job Type Master, follow the steps below:
- Click on the Profile picture and select Administrator from the drop-down menu.
- Click on Master Data from the left navigation panel and select Functional Expertise under Job.

- Click on the (+) add button on the top left.
- Enter the required fields and click Save.

- Click on the three-dot button placed in front of each Functional Expertise to edit or delete it.

- You can select the newly created Functional Expertise from the Functional Expertise drop-down when creating a job.
